The Review:

Protecting Portia

Published by Evolved Publishing

This book is scorching, as in I need some ice cubes to cool down after just reading it. It is also sexy, romantic and sweet, but not as in the cloying chocolate kind of sweetness, but rather in the real life kind of sweetness that makes your heart beat faster.

Portia is the assistant at The Sugar House, a high-class brothel catering to New York’s elite. Jackson is her self-appointed bodyguard. Jackson is madly in love with Portia, but is convinced he doesn’t deserve her. Portia has had enough of him thinking she is made of glass and keeping her up on pedestal and boy, when she sets out to prove she’s recovered from the hard life she first had when she came to America and he quite literally rescued her, she does it with a vengeance. Sparks fly in and out of the bedroom, as well as in a few other places I’ll leave you to guess about.

To say this book had me all hot and bothered would be a major understatement and I loved the storyline of the romance, after all, who among us can’t identify with being in love with someone we feel we don’t deserve. This story had it all as far as I was concerned and I can’t wait to read more books from the Sugar House series.
